Genre Research: The verdict.

Image
Hello you all, I have made the final decision for my film genre. After researching three genres in total, comedy, action, and thriller, the one that stuck out the most was action. Yes, for my film it will be an action genre. I chose this genre as it suits the conventions that I will be able to work with. For instance, Mis-En-Scenes such as lighting and costumes will be dark and neutral which is perfect for the environment I will be working in. Filming may take place inside a house to outside in a car at dusk. Filming during this time will set a dramatic scene. The film will be based on the mafia being under wraps with one of their members unknowingly. The member suspectedly gets kidnapped by an unknown individual and whilst trying to investigate the situation further and retrieve their member, they are betrayed and realize that the member taken was against their team the entire time. This film will be action filled with all of the drama that will be happening suiting the genre we

Genre Research: Action

Hey guys, it me again! I have researched another genre, this time it being action. I have learned much about common shots, sounds, editing and many more that is used in production in these types of films. I decided to make a powerpoint displaying all of this information to share it with you all. I am considering pursuing this genre in my own film. However, I would like to hear about your opinion too, have a look.  This is an embedded Microsoft Office presentation, powered by Office .

Genre Research: Comedy

Hello, and welcome. I have started the researching process for genres inorder to decide what my film should be under. The first genre I have decided to explore is comedy. I created a powerpoint presentation to display the information I have found within this genre and what is contained as well as why I am considering it. I still have 2 other genres to research upon so I have still yet to decide the genre of my short film. But, no more long talk, allow me to let you have a look at my presentation, I hope you enjoy.  This is an embedded Microsoft Office presentation, powered by Office .

My Pitch

Image
Pitch 1: The mafia is under heat with an individual unknowingly. One of the mafia members suspectedly gets kidnapped to soon figure out the member taken was against them the entire time.     Pitch 2: A friend wants to badly be apart of the police force. The best friend denies him of his dream but decides to see if he has potential or not in his missions.  Pitch 1 is an excellent choice in terms of a comedy drama film. This idea has a great storyline to last the required duration of a 5 minute short film. In addition, this film will have a plot twist and  resolution to for the viewers to feel accomplished at their own well being. Choosing this pitch can appeal to all ethos, pathos, and logos intended for the viewer to ensure entertainment. Although, I will have to gather actors inorder to film this movie. Despite, this will not require as much props compared to pitch 2. I already will have the materials needed to film this pitch making it easier on me.  For pitch 2 the genre of the

Group

To start with this new film, I will have to determine if I am choosing to work in a group or not. For this movie I've decided that I will be working independently due to a many factors. Working alongside a partner can have its pros and cons. To list a few negatives, scheduling, and potential poor workman ship are ways in which this movie can fail. From my personal experience I have been able to identify these cons from working in a group. Scheduling as one of the most difficult tasks to perform in terms of trying to film. My partner and I had completely different schedules compared to each other thus there was little to no time to set up a date and film together. This created many difficulties for the both of us. For instance, in my music video I was forced to film by myself with the help of my brother being my camera man. Not only did I have to film by myself but I was also responsible for editing and publishing of the post. This put lots of stress upon me as the due date stea

Hello guys! It's me, Aaron, it has been a while since I made my last blog post. Good news though, I passed the AICE media studies AS exam! I am beyond satisfied with these results, all of the effort and time I invested into the each blog and film definitely payed off. Besides the blogs and films I created, I also successfully surpassed the last component of the exam. This component consisted of viewing a short clip from a film and writing an essay identifying the struggle. In addition to this, there was another essay to write for part two that I was able to successfully complete. These tasks were difficult to finish but was a great learning experience for me. I was able to learn how to edit from my commercial, music video, movie, and my critical creative reflection. I learned a variety of programs and softwares inorder to execute these projects. Adobe premiere pro, and after effects were the two main softwares used for post processing and ordering clips in sequential order. T
