My Pitch

    Pitch 1: The mafia is under heat with an individual unknowingly. One of the mafia members suspectedly gets kidnapped to soon figure out the member taken was against them the entire time.

    Pitch 2: A friend wants to badly be apart of the police force. The best friend denies him of his dream but decides to see if he has potential or not in his missions. 

Pitch 1 is an excellent choice in terms of a comedy drama film. This idea has a great storyline to last the required duration of a 5 minute short film. In addition, this film will have a plot twist and  resolution to for the viewers to feel accomplished at their own well being. Choosing this pitch can appeal to all ethos, pathos, and logos intended for the viewer to ensure entertainment. Although, I will have to gather actors inorder to film this movie. Despite, this will not require as much props compared to pitch 2. I already will have the materials needed to film this pitch making it easier on me. 

For pitch 2 the genre of the film will side more on the comedic side. The friend struggling to become apart of the police academy will be the plot of the movie. The best friend keeps doubting him when taking him on adventures alongside him. The friend seems to be a terrible officer but great in some aspects. Some of his talent becomes a total surprise towards the ending of the movie. This pitch is an entertaining piece that viewers may enjoy. Although, execution for this movie may be hard. 

I have made the executive decision to go with the first pitch, I have more ideas as well as a more well developed plot for this movie. This film also will not require lots of props in order to ensure that the audience is not confused.

There is a Solution!

 It is currently Saturday. I woke up today with a text from my group member about what we're going to film. After the conversation concerning the parts about what is being filmed, I learned that my partner cannot film today either. My partner's schedule is very tight and relying on him is making it detrimental to me. Keeping in mind that this project is due very soon we still have not had anything filmed at this point. I am now getting anxious and frustrated about what my group and I are going to have to do now. My group members' tight schedule has truly made it a detriment to my time and future plans I had. Creative Critical Reflection

  1. My commercial challenges conventions by the opening of a panning shot. I have used the luminescent light coming from the school board sign for realistic lighting. My film represents the student class, establishing students attending to school use the product. The location displays the environment that this product can be used in. My actor has shown, pants, shirt, backpack, and shoes to portray this. By implementing this as well as having some dramatic shots, it makes the viewer want the apparel to use, targeting students mainly but not limited to.  2. My product engages with the audience by grabbing their attention with various detail zoom shots, to panning. Showing off the brand, it shows the many uses that it has. This can be distributed in the real media text as it is visually appealing. Nowadays people have a lower attention span making fast pace videos with intense shots more interesting.  3. What’s the plan now?

    Nothing good comes easy. This is the quote keeping my motivation up. The reason I’m even thinking about this quote is because the filming dates are constantly being delayed. Unfortunately, not only does my group member and I have other work for classes but so we are busy in our daily lives. We are trying to come up with a solution so that we can accumulate together and film. We still need to look into a specific park to go to. Something along the lines next to our school or my partners house may work. It is important for it to be a spacious park so that the puppy can run around and play it’s part to act wild and free. The act of the dog being wild and free will irritate one of the characters, as mentioned in my script. This will be the introduction of the plot. My partner lives near the school.
