Intro

     Hello guys! It's me, Aaron, it has been a while since I made my last blog post. Good news though, I passed the AICE media studies AS exam! I am beyond satisfied with these results, all of the effort and time I invested into the each blog and film definitely payed off. Besides the blogs and films I created, I also successfully surpassed the last component of the exam. This component consisted of viewing a short clip from a film and writing an essay identifying the struggle. In addition to this, there was another essay to write for part two that I was able to successfully complete. These tasks were difficult to finish but was a great learning experience for me. I was able to learn how to edit from my commercial, music video, movie, and my critical creative reflection. I learned a variety of programs and softwares inorder to execute these projects. Adobe premiere pro, and after effects were the two main softwares used for post processing and ordering clips in sequential order. The last blog being the creative criticical reflection, I reviewed my own video and answered the top questions asked by viewers. This reflection was hands down the most difficult to create in terms of length. Simply recording the footage took around several hours in addition to editing it as well. Besides, it was a blast to react to my own movie while still being able to communicate with the audience. I also learned how to work in a group and its strengths and weaknesses of doing so. I am able to confirm there was definitely there ups and downs, in terms of scheduling my partner and I had completely different dates that we were free to film. Although, we were able to complete the film and meet up at his home to film. Nonetheless the entire filming process down to the editing were all fun learning experiences I was able to participate in. This was so exciting that I will be making another short film and I am truely looking forward to take you guys on this adventure with me!

There is a Solution!

 It is currently Saturday. I woke up today with a text from my group member about what we're going to film. After the conversation concerning the parts about what is being filmed, I learned that my partner cannot film today either. My partner's schedule is very tight and relying on him is making it detrimental to me. Keeping in mind that this project is due very soon we still have not had anything filmed at this point. I am now getting anxious and frustrated about what my group and I are going to have to do now. My group members' tight schedule has truly made it a detriment to my time and future plans I had. Finally, my group member and I decided to film by ourselves. After we both film whenever possible, I will edit all of the clips to make it one sequence to flow smoothly with the music video. Creative Critical Reflection

  1. My commercial challenges conventions by the opening of a panning shot. I have used the luminescent light coming from the school board sign for realistic lighting. My film represents the student class, establishing students attending to school use the product. The location displays the environment that this product can be used in. My actor has shown, pants, shirt, backpack, and shoes to portray this. By implementing this as well as having some dramatic shots, it makes the viewer want the apparel to use, targeting students mainly but not limited to.  2. My product engages with the audience by grabbing their attention with various detail zoom shots, to panning. Showing off the brand, it shows the many uses that it has. This can be distributed in the real media text as it is visually appealing. Nowadays people have a lower attention span making fast pace videos with intense shots more interesting.  3. What’s the plan now?

    Nothing good comes easy. This is the quote keeping my motivation up. The reason I’m even thinking about this quote is because the filming dates are constantly being delayed. Unfortunately, not only does my group member and I have other work for classes but so we are busy in our daily lives. We are trying to come up with a solution so that we can accumulate together and film. We still need to look into a specific park to go to. Something along the lines next to our school or my partners house may work. It is important for it to be a spacious park so that the puppy can run around and play it’s part to act wild and free. The act of the dog being wild and free will irritate one of the characters, as mentioned in my script. This will be the introduction of the plot. My partner lives near the school.
