Genre Research: Comedy

Hello, and welcome. I have started the researching process for genres inorder to decide what my film should be under. The first genre I have decided to explore is comedy. I created a powerpoint presentation to display the information I have found within this genre and what is contained as well as why I am considering it. I still have 2 other genres to research upon so I have still yet to decide the genre of my short film. But, no more long talk, allow me to let you have a look at my presentation, I hope you enjoy.

  First Scene: In the first scene we will record the actor wandering around with a gift for one of his friends. With a wide angle shot, closing up to zoom shot of the person opening up a door to lots of Christmas lights with a big tree in the middle.  Second Scene: This next scene will start with a close up of the decorations. Panning back to the actor, gazing in awe smiling at the decorations.  Third Scene: Chosen Christmas song will start to play out of the blues. A random person (B) is dancing and meets the actor. Intro blog

 Hey, I'm back! Today we're starting a new project and the goal is to create a music video. The last project that I had to work on was very fun. In the process of making my first ever blogs, to creating the commercial was all a new experience for me. I had to plan out ahead of time of what I was going to do for my commercial and what scenes that I wanted to do. This enhanced my brainstorming capabilities and set a new standard for me. The hardest part of making the commercial was the editing process. Making sure to do smooth transitions was very important. Making sure both clips made sense and synced into one another was definitely a thinking process. I put special effects into the video with signs and time remapping to make it pleasant to the viewers eyes. After an hour or two of editing I started to get used to the program and get a hang of it. Short Film Research: Gridlock Thriller

      Welcome back! I have done research on a short films, this being on the movie Gridlock by Ian Hunt. Gridlock is the same genre as what I am planning to film, thriller. This short film is about a little girl going missing on a country road from inside one of the cars in a traffic jam. Her father goes on a vicious hunt to find her and soon everyone becomes a suspect. The vivid camera work seen and consistent pressing rhythm of the editing made it seem as if the audience is in the center of the events unfolding. In the film an accident regarding a horse is what causes the traffic jam. An extreme close-up of the fathers eyes staring at the horse's body lying dead in the middle of the street. This creates intensity and suspense within this scene which was then followed up by the realization of his missing daughter.
