What’s the plan now?

Nothing good comes easy. This is the quote keeping my motivation up. The reason I’m even thinking about this quote is because the filming dates are constantly being delayed. Unfortunately, not only does my group member and I have other work for classes but so we are busy in our daily lives. We are trying to come up with a solution so that we can accumulate together and film. We still need to look into a specific park to go to. Something along the lines next to our school or my partners house may work. It is important for it to be a spacious park so that the puppy can run around and play it’s part to act wild and free. The act of the dog being wild and free will irritate one of the characters, as mentioned in my script. This will be the introduction of the plot. My partner lives near the school. This makes it accessible to me and we can easily begin the filming process. As my partner and I know what we’re going to film we can film different parts of the movie separately. For instanc

What will help us

My partner and I are almost ready! My group and I has found alternate solutions to be productive rather than wait for the scheduled film date. Right now we have decided many location spots. This will not only be including the park, but rather his house and maybe the mall. The park will work perfectly for the first one of this movie as I plan to do a panning shot from the sky. This sky pan shot will be the opening sequence to the movie that introduces the film title and credits. The movie title will be embedded onto the sky. I am considering to have one or two of the last remaining credits to be posted on the puppy. This will make my film seem more professional whilst still introducing the cast. We will be filming our next scenes at my partners house as it where the comedic storyline will continue. This will consist of both actors admiring the puppy and sharing moments together. This will help build communication to the audience establishing a strong relationship. We also chose to

What's Next?

We're almost ready to begin filming! I cannot wait to start another project. It is different to all the previous tasks that I had to do before. Making this movie is definitely going to be a learning experience for my group and I. After planning the location, schedule, and actors we are almost due to film. I cannot get ahead of myself though, there is still some brainstorming that needs to be done. To start with, planning the schedule is going to be a bit difficult. For example, my partner and I have to consider that we have other school activities to do. This includes, homework, exams, and if any after school activities. Homework and exams for other classes is one of the focuses that takes away majority of our time. Since we do not have all of the same classes my partner and I are assigned homework and exams on opposite days. Whenever I do not have an assignment to do, my partner does. It is still important to focus on our other curricular activities while still being able to

Plans

It's time to begin! After making all these blogs it has been tiring. Thankfully, spring break just passed through so I that I can recover. Over break I recuperated all my lost energy by resting it off. Needless to say I definitely took my vacation. Other than sleeping I have been working on this movie. To start with, I began thinking about locations used that me might have trouble with. For instance, for one of our scenes my group and I are considering filming at the park. Living in a state with bipolar weather and can rain anytime can interrupt filming. Wet floors, grass, and slides in addition to the dark clouds in the sky can skew the audiences perspective of the movie. These elements can make it seem to indicate that the film is meant to be gloomy and sad. To prevent this my group and I have to film on a bright sunny day to reciprocate a comedic like film. As the sun beams on the park it will give off a sensation of joy and happiness. This will help tremendously in the cr

Let’s get started

Yay, it is finally time to begin, and my group and I cannot wait to begin. My last several projects have been very fun. The commercial and music video have been used as stepping stones to create this movie. I am going to be using the past skills that I used from these, including but not limited to, editing, filming, proper transitions, and pre-production. I still will most likely use the same software for this upcoming movie. I am most familiar with programs such as Adobe premiere pro and Adobe after effects. These two programs will allow me to add in titles for the opening sequence as well as the rest of the editing required to make this movie. This includes transitions, clip duration, text, and special effects. I first used these programs for my commercial and learned how to maneuver around all the tools. I’ve always wanted to film a movie and now my group and I have the chance to. The genre of this movie is going to be comedy. I am aiming to make this film very light-hearted

Title Design

Image
The opening credits and title sequence of my film will most likely be in a font called "Jumble." My group and I decided to choose this font of them all since we think it fits the overall mood and genre the best. "Jumble" has a messy, cartoony look to it making it perfect for a comedy. The other options that my group and I looked at were, "Aldhabi," "Ahoroni," and "Ink Free." Aldhabi consists of a roman like style font, which would seems to be more on the sophisticated end. The "Ahoroni" font is a bold caps locked font which started to fit the comedy feel, but could be better such as spacing between lettering. "Ink Free" is a messy font that looks drawn in pencil, it has a very cartoony feel to it which was going to be our alternate font. We didn't choose this font as it would fit more of a cartoon film rather than what ours would be. My group and I are still working on a title, what we have in mind is "PUPP

Planning: location, participants, health, and schedule

Image
In this blog I will talk about location, participants, health, and schedule. To begin with the location will take place at a empty park that makes it look like natural wilderness. Following scenes will take place likely at my house where the dog lives. It can also be in my backyard, a dog park, or beach. Next the participants will consist of my group mate and I as well as my dog. My group mate and I get along well. His skills match my lack of skills and other way around. For example, he is good at editing I am not. I am good at acting he is not. To make sure we are safe and healthy and not have to delay film again because of sickness we watch our health. Aswell as during filming we will make sure we are not sick and always ready prioritizing sleep. For our schedule we are going to create a detail description of events and when they will take place in another blog but here is a brief description. Over spring break, we will prepare our editing and software apps and screen. Still during

Planning/Script

The movie begins with a tracking shot following a young dog wondering through out the woods. Cutting to a scene where character 1 is convincing character 2 that it will be wise to get a puppy. Character 2 denies and thinks its a bad idea financially and mostly for the characters mental health and sanity. This dialogue will be followed with side shots and tracking as character 2 is frantically pacing convincing their partner/ friend have not decided about their relationship yet because we aren't sure who will be acting. Following character 2 is convinced this dog will be the end of him because of  all the trouble of having a puppy. Character 2 is mainly worried about the house being destroyed and having to take care of it. The next scene is a tracking shot of a car headed out north to see the new born puppy's. Once arrived character 1 and 2 get out of the car a tracking shot of there feet walking through the thick grass or mud. After walking up to the litter character 1 see

Title Research: Groundhog Day

1.What titles are displayed during the opening sequenced? 2.What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? 3.What connotations do these images carry? 4.How does the film establish a feeling of genre from the outset? 5.What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience? 6.How has technology been used effectively?     Titles displayed during the opening sequence of the film Groundhog Day features, Columbia Pictures presents, Trevor Alberts production, and the list of actors in the movie. These titles are displayed over various shots of Punxsutawney, and the town square. The shots of Punxsutawney statue serves as the famous groundhog who predicts the weather every Groundhog Day. This establishes the setting  of the film, as snow falls bundling up on winter clothing used to emphasize that is cold. In addition, the Town Square is the central location where Groundhog Day takes place.  Connotation images carry such as the statue serve as a symbol of community an

Storyboard

In scene 1 it starts with a panning shot from the sky to both actors. This next scene will transition to both of the actors conversations. This conversation will consist of how actor 1 wants a dog to fulfill his loneliness and tries his best to convince actor 2 the roommate to get the dog. Actor 2 then caves in and decides to get the dog alongside with actor 1. Both actors travel to their destination, the pet store, via car to purchase the puppy. The puppy ends up being very expensive but decides to still buy it anyway. Actor 1’s loneliness begins to be fulfilled. Although not being as lonely anymore the dog starts to cause a ruckus in the house and clogging up the drainage in the pool. Actor 2 starts to regret his decision of purchasing this dog after all of this and starts to argue with actor 1. After these series of events start to go off, the dog is still acting a fool around the house proving actor 2’s point about why he did not want to get another dog. Actor 1 still tries his b
