Let’s get started

     Yay, it is finally time to begin, and my group and I cannot wait to begin. My last several projects have been very fun. The commercial and music video have been used as stepping stones to create this movie. I am going to be using the past skills that I used from these, including but not limited to, editing, filming, proper transitions, and pre-production. I still will most likely use the same software for this upcoming movie. I am most familiar with programs such as Adobe premiere pro and Adobe after effects. These two programs will allow me to add in titles for the opening sequence as well as the rest of the editing required to make this movie. This includes transitions, clip duration, text, and special effects. I first used these programs for my commercial and learned how to maneuver around all the tools. I’ve always wanted to film a movie and now my group and I have the chance to. The genre of this movie is going to be comedy. I am aiming to make this film very light-hearted alongside some humor. I am positive that my group and I will achieve this as our personalities will perfectly fit the movie. This can also give the audience a closer connection with the cast in the movie due to relatability. Connecting a relationship like this with the viewers is vital for keeping their attention throughout the movie. I have acknowledged this from my personal experience when watching a movie. Whenever an individual feels like they have a connected relationship with an actor, it keeps them entertained for a longer period. Nonetheless, I strongly believe that my partner and I fulfill the qualities to make this movie as entertaining as possible. We are still brainstorming ideas and other backup plans in case of an emergency. My partner and I are currently depicting a filming date and cannot wait to start filming.

There is a Solution!

 It is currently Saturday. I woke up today with a text from my group member about what we're going to film. After the conversation concerning the parts about what is being filmed, I learned that my partner cannot film today either. My partner's schedule is very tight and relying on him is making it detrimental to me. Keeping in mind that this project is due very soon we still have not had anything filmed at this point. I am now getting anxious and frustrated about what my group and I are going to have to do now. My group members' tight schedule has truly made it a detriment to my time and future plans I had. Finally, my group member and I decided to film by ourselves. After we both film whenever possible, I will edit all of the clips to make it one sequence to flow smoothly with the music video. Creative Critical Reflection

  1. My commercial challenges conventions by the opening of a panning shot. I have used the luminescent light coming from the school board sign for realistic lighting. My film represents the student class, establishing students attending to school use the product. The location displays the environment that this product can be used in. My actor has shown, pants, shirt, backpack, and shoes to portray this. By implementing this as well as having some dramatic shots, it makes the viewer want the apparel to use, targeting students mainly but not limited to.  2. My product engages with the audience by grabbing their attention with various detail zoom shots, to panning. Showing off the brand, it shows the many uses that it has. This can be distributed in the real media text as it is visually appealing. Nowadays people have a lower attention span making fast pace videos with intense shots more interesting.  3. What’s the plan now?

    Nothing good comes easy. This is the quote keeping my motivation up. The reason I’m even thinking about this quote is because the filming dates are constantly being delayed. Unfortunately, not only does my group member and I have other work for classes but so we are busy in our daily lives. We are trying to come up with a solution so that we can accumulate together and film. We still need to look into a specific park to go to. Something along the lines next to our school or my partners house may work. It is important for it to be a spacious park so that the puppy can run around and play it’s part to act wild and free. The act of the dog being wild and free will irritate one of the characters, as mentioned in my script. This will be the introduction of the plot. My partner lives near the school.
