Behind the Scenes
The filming process was going very smoothly. In the first scene, I planned to walk through the mall's electric sliding doors, making sure to have a clear opening shot for the viewer's eye. I walked over to a big Christmas tree that the mall had. This tree seemed to be a popular attraction as there were many people around it, either taking pictures or simply gazing. The shoppers of the mall made it slightly difficult to get simple panning-down shots of the tree as there were people everywhere including those walking into the camera frame. After achieving B-roll shots of the Christmas decorations it was my time to step back into the music video. Two scenes consisted of me walking around the mall. When walking around the mall I made it clear that I was observing my surroundings which were decoration filled. The second scene, contains me walking up to the tree and clearly viewing it from top to bottom. Giving a hint to the people who will be watching that I am in awe and starting to get jolly. During the filming of these two to three simple scenes, it was surprisingly strenuous. For instance, since it was a Saturday people are freed up from other activities. From kids having no school to other adults having no work, there'll leave with some free time. Around this month there is many more shoppers since it is the holiday season cramming the mall with lots of customers. This resulted in many people walking into the frame of the camera consistently. Having to record the same scenes 3-4 times made it more tedious than it really was. I overcame this by timing it when people are walking by. I did not have many more scenes left to film at this point. In the fourth scene, I figured that I needed to dance, because what's a music video without dancing. Embarrassingly enough, I was able to wiggle my arms and prance around which concluded my part of the filming process.
