Creative Critical Reflection
1. My music video challenges conventions by introducing a panning shot of a Christmas tree to begin the clip. In this clip there it was day time, exposing all the features and ornaments on the tree. This film gives the conception that it is the holiday season and it’s the time of giving and to be joyful. There was multiple locations used in this music video. For instance, the mall, and the beach were two of the locations to show that there is joy all around. The actors in this music video wear comfy clothing, such as hoodies since during the holidays it is most commonly cold. To portray this, the actor walked toward the Christmas tree furthermore demonstrating joyfulness. By doing so, it creates a stigma in the viewers mind to get into the holiday spirit.
2. My music video engages the audience by getting ahold of their awareness with multiple panning, B-roll, and zooming in to out shots. Showing off the decorations and people around it, it demonstrates it is during the holiday season. In a real media text scenario, this would be applicable due to catching the visual eye. By making the shots short and quick with many transitions and clips, it satisfies the viewers attention to see what’s next.
3. Since my last project, my video editing skills has definitely gotten better. I used the same software I did last time so I was able to navigate through the program quicker and easier than my first time doing so. I haven’t used any regular program such as IMOVIE or capcut but instead Premiere pro. This program offers many more capabilities when it comes to video editing which allowed me to sequence clips better and higher quality export.
4. Technology was used throughout this project by using my camera from my phone, laptop, and software. I also used gmail to send all the clips from my phone to my computer to add on.
