Production Blog Filming

On today's adventure, I made plans to film. I decided to film when it was a bit dark for early morning to display in my commercial. By doing so, the intention was to give it the effect that people who wear the clothing are always prepared and dedicated. I gathered all the props and tools needed to film this commercial. When I picked up my actor, I instructed him what his role was and what to do with the props. When I reached the school, my actor and I started the filming process. Prior to this, I had called the school and asked them if video recording was permitted, and they gave me access to do so. The first step was to get a panning shot of the school sign for the viewers to get an idea of the commercial and where it is taking place. Afterward, I relocated to a different location in the outside hallway. With this area, my actor was ready with further instructions. I then filmed two extremes and two normal close-up shots showing off the shoes, backpack, pants, and shirt. With two of the extreme close-up shots, I instructed my actor to a standstill and for the normal close-ups to start walking. When finished I started walking around to see if there was another location/pole of any sort to get a panning shot. I finally found a well-lighted spot in the hallway with a pole and continued the filming process there. Before starting I practiced B-roll, and panning shots before my actor started. Finally, I instructed my actor to continue walking and search the backpack to pull out another with his phone inside to end the clip. I had come from one side of the pole and slowly walked towards my actor to show him opening the backpack. After my actor pulled out another backpack with his phone inside, I slowly panned away from him for the perfect transition for an ending.
