Production Blog: Filming day Fail...

    Sooo, it is me again. As you may know from my planning blog, today was supposed to be my scheduled film day. Based off the title I am sure you can already tell that I was not able to film today with my actors. I know I know, now it is getting repetitive but I can explain. From my last blog I mentioned that Nandika is going to be in Trinidad for a week. The issue with this is that, she is one of the main actors as well as me using her house as the filming space. Fortunately, she wont be gone for long, about a week. This still leaves me plenty of time to still plan and film. Although, this means that both of the originally desired filming dates have been compromised. With bad news always comes good news. She will be coming back on February 15th in which we are both available to film the day after, the 16th which is a Friday. I have checked in with the other actors and the designated videographer and that date is looking promising. 

    I know it might have been a disappointment to not hear how my team and I filming day went but all good things must take time. As of now, I will be preparing for filming by gathering all the props and costumes needed for each character to play their role. I have a prop gun that I will use for the mafia boss come across as intimidating. I will gather masks or dark colored shirts that the mafia members can also wear hiding their identity. Along with the masks, I also have vests and suits that can go over what the mafia members would already be wearing. This will highlight their appearance making them look more "official". By the time that Nandika arrives back from her trip I will have all of the props and costumes prepared for filming day. I will not disappoint you in my next blog, I promise!

There is a Solution!

 It is currently Saturday. I woke up today with a text from my group member about what we're going to film. After the conversation concerning the parts about what is being filmed, I learned that my partner cannot film today either. My partner's schedule is very tight and relying on him is making it detrimental to me. Keeping in mind that this project is due very soon we still have not had anything filmed at this point. I am now getting anxious and frustrated about what my group and I are going to have to do now. My group members' tight schedule has truly made it a detriment to my time and future plans I had. Creative Critical Reflection

  1. My commercial challenges conventions by the opening of a panning shot. I have used the luminescent light coming from the school board sign for realistic lighting. My film represents the student class, establishing students attending to school use the product. The location displays the environment that this product can be used in. My actor has shown, pants, shirt, backpack, and shoes to portray this. By implementing this as well as having some dramatic shots, it makes the viewer want the apparel to use, targeting students mainly but not limited to.  2. My product engages with the audience by grabbing their attention with various detail zoom shots, to panning. Showing off the brand, it shows the many uses that it has. This can be distributed in the real media text as it is visually appealing. Nowadays people have a lower attention span making fast pace videos with intense shots more interesting.  3. What’s the plan now?

    Nothing good comes easy. This is the quote keeping my motivation up. The reason I’m even thinking about this quote is because the filming dates are constantly being delayed. Unfortunately, not only does my group member and I have other work for classes but so we are busy in our daily lives. We are trying to come up with a solution so that we can accumulate together and film. We still need to look into a specific park to go to. Something along the lines next to our school or my partners house may work. It is important for it to be a spacious park so that the puppy can run around and play it’s part to act wild and free. The act of the dog being wild and free will irritate one of the characters, as mentioned in my script. This will be the introduction of the plot. My partner lives near the school.
