Comparing Le Jetee, the short, and 12 Monkeys, the full-length movie

Hello and welcome back! Today I will be reviewing and comparing films Le Jetee by Chris Marker and the full-length film by Terry Gilliams. Both films contain their similarities and differences. For instance, in Le Jetee the acting is different to that of the 12 monkeys. Instead of characters actually playing their part, it is in the form of photos and non-diegetic sound. On the other hand, full length film, 12 monkeys has dialogue and actual scenes not photographs. For them to be the similar, 12 monkeys would need a narrator to do a voiceover of the film as well. In order to pay tribute to the movie, 12 Monkeys also reworks the plot, topic, and concepts from La Jetée. In addition, La Jetée is a picture-based narrative about a World War III survivor who is transported back in time to prevent the planet's destruction in order to preserve humankind. Genre decision

There are many different genres of films that my group and I reviewed and looked over. The genres we went over were action, comedy, and mystery. Understanding what these genres are is very important to the development of the recreational movie that we're subjected to create. After gathering information about the action we concluded that the production makes one is very action-packed as it is in the title. Camera angles, sounds, and transitions are very intense in these films. To mimic this, it will require extra planning ahead for what props, sounds, and plans for post-development regarding the editing process. Quick transitions, loud bangs, and claps tell the audience that it is indeed an action movie. My group and I rather strayed away from this genre as it did not fit our theme.
