 Movie Conventions Research: Step Brothers

What elements of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie

have?
What elements of the genre did the movie have that you like?
What elements of the genre did the movie have that did not appeal to you?

The movie Stepbrothers contain physical comedy including scenes of sword fights, bunk bed collapses, and bicycle races. The film also uses satire the film satirizes the idea of grown men who refuse to grow up and act like adults and pokes fun at the way society hates them. The film also uses absurdity in many ways as over-the-top humor in many of the film's scenes. This film also contains many scenes that display these conventions. All the scenes have a convention scene in them. The characters also display character-based humor the humor comes from there lead characters Brennan and Dale with their child-like personalities. The film uses this classic convention of creating characters with exaggerated flaws. The film displays slapstick humor because many of the scenes have gagged the use of exaggerated humor. Over stepbrothers displays classic comedy conventions. Personally, I liked all conventions of comedy in the movie Stepbrothers. I liked all of it because it is staying consistent throughout the film. I like all of the conventions because they are classic and never really fail a joke. Because these are so popular because they don't fail. Some convent in the movie that I disliked was satire because of one small reason which was the social part. Although the satire convention has plenty of good uses just the timing was not always the best. Another thing I liked about the film was the physical fighting because they would break each other down mentally and then would snap like a child. When I say mentally one would say don't touch my drum set and then the other touches their drum set. These are consistent throughout the film. This movie is a personal favorite and will always be because of the sheer amount of entertainment and the mood it puts you in. The mood of a movie is very important, and movies make all humans feel emotions based off of their genre. For example, this movie made me feel historical.
