I'm back!

Hello, I am finally back! I'm still shocked at how long it has been since I wrote a blog. The last blog I wrote about was for my previous project. I teamed up with a friend on this project and formulated a group to knock it down. My group and I were instructed to create a music video and we couldn't wait to do it. Since it was during the holiday season, I found it only right to make a Christmas-themed music video. After brainstorming all the bunch of ideas that I could do, I got right on top of it. I started by researching previous Christmas music videos that are very well-known and picked up traits and actions used to incorporate them into my own. This was a very fun process as well as a learning curve as I never made a music video before. Despite all the fun, there were some cons. As it was my first time making a music video it was also my first time working in a group on this matter. I further learned that my partner and I had very different schedules, one day I'd be free, and he would be busy. This had made it a problem to meet up to create this music video, unfortunately postponing it for about a week. The due date was coming up faster and faster putting my group and me on a time crunch and building up lots of stress. Luckily, my problem-solving skills kicked in and we were able to formulate a plan to make this video. I decided to go out and start filming all of the clips. As the minute finished, I got home and wasted no time getting straight to the editing process using my prior knowledge from my commercial. The next day came, and my partner sent me the clips he gathered, and I edited them. After an hour and a half of editing, I was finally done with my Christmas music video. There was so much relief when I finished and imported the music video into Blogger. After all that time, my partner and I are hard work paid off and we both had a great time making it.

There is a Solution!

 It is currently Saturday. I woke up today with a text from my group member about what we're going to film. After the conversation concerning the parts about what is being filmed, I learned that my partner cannot film today either. My partner's schedule is very tight and relying on him is making it detrimental to me. Keeping in mind that this project is due very soon we still have not had anything filmed at this point. I am now getting anxious and frustrated about what my group and I are going to have to do now. My group members' tight schedule has truly made it a detriment to my time and future plans I had. Finally, my group member and I decided to film by ourselves. After we both film whenever possible, I will edit all of the clips to make it one sequence to flow smoothly with the music video. Creative Critical Reflection

  1. My commercial challenges conventions by the opening of a panning shot. I have used the luminescent light coming from the school board sign for realistic lighting. My film represents the student class, establishing students attending to school use the product. The location displays the environment that this product can be used in. My actor has shown, pants, shirt, backpack, and shoes to portray this. By implementing this as well as having some dramatic shots, it makes the viewer want the apparel to use, targeting students mainly but not limited to.  2. My product engages with the audience by grabbing their attention with various detail zoom shots, to panning. Showing off the brand, it shows the many uses that it has. This can be distributed in the real media text as it is visually appealing. Nowadays people have a lower attention span making fast pace videos with intense shots more interesting.  3. What’s the plan now?

    Nothing good comes easy. This is the quote keeping my motivation up. The reason I’m even thinking about this quote is because the filming dates are constantly being delayed. Unfortunately, not only does my group member and I have other work for classes but so we are busy in our daily lives. We are trying to come up with a solution so that we can accumulate together and film. We still need to look into a specific park to go to. Something along the lines next to our school or my partners house may work. It is important for it to be a spacious park so that the puppy can run around and play it’s part to act wild and free. The act of the dog being wild and free will irritate one of the characters, as mentioned in my script. This will be the introduction of the plot. My partner lives near the school.
