Future Plans

    Hey its me again! I am getting closer to filming day-which is on Saturday. I have been brainstorming with my group for what we're planning to do. For a Christmas song the main goal is to make the viewers get into the holiday season spirit and be jolly. Not only will overlapping the song of choice to our video but dancing, prancing, or even singing along should achieve this. I figured this out from personal experience over my lifetime. For instance, when music is playing and an individual starts to dance, usually another person will join them which later turns into a group of them. According to this, the same impact will apply to the viewers. When watching other Christmas music videos, I observed that its mainly nostalgia and giving back that gives it a happy mood. To further elaborate, these music videos use pathos by visiting family members/friends and doing random activities with them. Additionally, giving gifts to children or randomly handing out candy also shows that it is the holiday to give back to loved ones. By filming at the mall, we can capture the action of others giving or even give back ourselves. I am also planning to wear something warm and cozy and try getting a shot near a fireplace. The reason for this being that the holiday season is much colder so being able to wear sweaters and sit near hot fireplaces are some of people's favorite time of the year. In case of an emergency where my group and I are not able to go to the mall we need to develop a backup plan. For a backup location I have thought about going to a Home Depot, during this time they have many Christmas decorations for shoppers to see. Not only providing the perfect cosmetics but also a designated wonderland section that you can walk into with fake snow, Christmas trees, lights, nutcrackers, and many more. Although, everything so far is going to plan, and production will start soon.

There is a Solution!

 It is currently Saturday. I woke up today with a text from my group member about what we're going to film. After the conversation concerning the parts about what is being filmed, I learned that my partner cannot film today either. My partner's schedule is very tight and relying on him is making it detrimental to me. Keeping in mind that this project is due very soon we still have not had anything filmed at this point. I am now getting anxious and frustrated about what my group and I are going to have to do now. My group members' tight schedule has truly made it a detriment to my time and future plans I had. Finally, my group member and I decided to film by ourselves. After we both film whenever possible, I will edit all of the clips to make it one sequence to flow smoothly with the music video. Creative Critical Reflection

  1. My commercial challenges conventions by the opening of a panning shot. I have used the luminescent light coming from the school board sign for realistic lighting. My film represents the student class, establishing students attending to school use the product. The location displays the environment that this product can be used in. My actor has shown, pants, shirt, backpack, and shoes to portray this. By implementing this as well as having some dramatic shots, it makes the viewer want the apparel to use, targeting students mainly but not limited to.  2. My product engages with the audience by grabbing their attention with various detail zoom shots, to panning. Showing off the brand, it shows the many uses that it has. This can be distributed in the real media text as it is visually appealing. Nowadays people have a lower attention span making fast pace videos with intense shots more interesting.  3. What’s the plan now?

    Nothing good comes easy. This is the quote keeping my motivation up. The reason I’m even thinking about this quote is because the filming dates are constantly being delayed. Unfortunately, not only does my group member and I have other work for classes but so we are busy in our daily lives. We are trying to come up with a solution so that we can accumulate together and film. We still need to look into a specific park to go to. Something along the lines next to our school or my partners house may work. It is important for it to be a spacious park so that the puppy can run around and play it’s part to act wild and free. The act of the dog being wild and free will irritate one of the characters, as mentioned in my script. This will be the introduction of the plot. My partner lives near the school.
